Accounting 1 Honors

Through explanations, demonstrations, and practice, students record and interpret basic financial business records based on Acceptable Accounting Principles.  The complete accounting cycle is taught covering a service business and a merchandising business.  Attention is focused on payroll accounting.  After discussing the theory, the accounting work will be done on the computer using business simulations.

Business Management Honors

This course, which includes foundation of business management, business operations and

management techniques, economics of distribution, human relations, business ethics and law, forms of business ownership and business finance, provides a business background for students planning a business career.  Management of the school store and activities in DECA (An Association of Marketing Students) are used to develop business and leadership skills.

 

Entrepreneurship Honors

This course is designed for seniors with a desire to explore the American drean of owning their own business.  It provides an overview of what is required to open a business.  Students are given the opportunity to determine their potential as an entrepreneur.  Curriculum includes developing a business plan, obtaining technical assistance, planning the market strategy, locating the business, financing the business, dealing with legal issues and government regulations, as well as the total management of the business.  Management of the school store and activities in DECA (An Association of Marketing Students) are used to develop business and leadership skills.


Sports and Entertainment Marketing

Through project-based research and case studies, students explore the multi-billion dollar sports and entertainment industries.  Topics include economics, marketing, brands, image, product, pricing, branding, licensing, research, promotion and careers.
